On My Mind

1- I wish I could give business to anybody who goes to the trouble of putting balloons out to attract customers' attention. I always feel so bad when I drive by and see balloons or dancing employees holding up signs by the intersections, with nothing to show for it but an empty parking lot and a bad sunburn. Today I was wishing I had a reason to go into an H&R Block when I saw an older man out struggling to tie his "grand opening" balloons together outside and keep them from blowing away in the wind. To be honest, the only thing I know about H&R Block is that it was the answer Ken Jennings missed on his Jeopardy million-dollar streak. But today, I wanted so badly to go in and pretend I was interested in what they had to offer. *sigh*

2- People amaze me. People who can knit, people who sacrifice their lives for their country, people who do travel shows on TV and are seldom recognized for all their tiresome efforts, people who work graveyard shifts and still raise their families during the daytime, teachers who devote every hour of their day to their job, people who make amazing things out of their home, people who know about every spice at the supermarket and when to use it, people who do nice things without even being asked, and oh, my list could go on and on. Every day I am amazed by the people around me.

Anyway, those are just a few things on my mind today. :-) Enjoy the sunshine!

You should go into H&R next weekend! They are having a special promotion where they will review your tax return for free and guarantee it's accuracy.

Very cute Tax Deduction! I love the Pj's.

You're funny. I don't really have any desire to go to H&R Block with or without balloons. I have mourned before though for the people who's job it is to stand and hold up signs to advertise. (Some company a few blocks from us always has some guy dressed up as the statue of liberty.) I feel bad for them.
